8 August 2011: Two Football Fields in an Eight Meter Deep Hole

The work with steel sheet pile driving and pole driving for the so-called excavation frame, which is the basement and foundation of Mediaspace now commences. The excavation frame will be approximately 100 by 100 metres and approximately eight metres deep. This corresponds to two football fields in an eight metre deep hole.

3 August 2011: Mediaspace Receives Generous Donation

A donation of 17.4 million Danish Kroner to Mediaspace from A.P. Møller and Wife Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller’s Foundation enables the realisation of the project’s vision for an auditorium of high architectural and functional standard.

8 June 2011: Construction commenced

On Wednesday 8 June 2011, the City of Aarhus in cooperation with Realdania and Realdania Byg cut the first sod for the enormous construction project which over the coming four years will transform the southern bastion of the harbour from industrial harbour to vibrant urban space.

3 June 2011: Cutting of the first sod

The largest construction project of the City of Aarhus is about to commence. On Wednesday 8 June 2011, the City of Aarhus in cooperation with Realdania and Realdania Byg will celebrate the official start of the construction process.

26 May 2011: Closing of Nordhavnsgade

The commencement of the construction of Urban Mediaspace Aarhus means that Nordhavnsgade will be closed as of 1 June 2011.
