In connection with the construction of Mediaspace, The City of Aarhus conducts trials of the coming piling work at Aarhus Harbour. The trials are carried out in order to be able to choose the best piling method. One criterion is to limit inconveniences in relation to noise and vibrations.

The trials take place between week 23 and 33 and include pile driving of reinforced concrete piles, sheet piling, and drilling down of earth anchors. The part of the work which can cause noise and vibrations will be carried out during the day on weekdays.

Vibration and Noise

The trials are, among other things, carried out to ensure a level of vibrations, which will not harm neighbouring buildings. During piling, the contractor will continuously register level of noise and vibrations to ensure that both levels are within the specified criteria.

The actual construction work in relation to Mediaspace is scheduled to commence in 2011.
