The Parade Quay, Europaplads, the river and the current Harbour Square are areas which will be significantly changed in the coming years. And the new Main Library and Citizens’ Services will be placed at the centre of it all. What will happen, who is involved and what are the visions for the project New central urban waterfront and Mediaspace?
Everyone has an opportunity to meet the competing architects and hear about the visions for the project when the City of Aarhus invites to public meeting at the Town Hall on 22 April 2008 from 18.00 to 21.00.
On 26 March 2008, Aarhus City Council passed a recommendation, which will unite the development of the central urban waterfront, the opening of the final stretch of the river, and the construction of Mediaspace in one single project. The project is called New Central Urban Waterfront and Mediaspace, and with its many facets it will be a project, which will touch many people’s lives.
At the same time, Aarhus City Council decided to launch the architectural competition between six chosen teams. The six teams, which will now develop their project proposals, are:

The project New Central Urban Waterfront and Mediaspace is carried out in cooperation between the City of Aarhus, Realdania and Realea A/S with Rambøll Denmark as building consultant.
